Today we are taking a look at the new range of Air Pumps from AM.CO.ZA. These Air Pumps, range from as little as 40 Litres per minute all the way to an impressive 450 Litres per minute. Advanced Machinery‘s Air Pumps boast excellent quality and durability!
In the below video, we take a look at what you need to know about the range of Air Pumps:
First up we have the AG-AIR/40 Air Pump, a 220V 35W Magnetic Piston Air Pump which is capable of 40L per a minute with a pressure of ACO-002 0.03Mpa. This Air Pump is typically used for the desktop laser cutters.
Then we have the AG-AIR 80W 220V Air Pump which is capable of 70L per minute with a pressure of ACO-005 0.035Mpa. This is the default Air Pump for the standard cabinet and flatbed laser machines.
The AG-AIR/110 110W Air Pump is capable of 110L per minute with a pressure of ACO-009 >0.035Mpa. Both the 80W and 100W, work very well with the standard cabinet and flatbed laser machines. The main difference between the two is that with the higher the litres per minute capability, the greater the consistency of the desired airflow over time.
Then we have the AG-AIR/300 380W 220V Air Pump and the top of the range, the AG-AIR/450 520W 220V Air Pump, capable of 300L and 450L respectively with ACO-818 >0.05Mpa and ACO-016 >0.05Mpa of pressure.
All the new Air Pumps are complete with plug points that plug directly into the laser’s power grid for convenience. If you would like to change to a local power supply plug, you can do so but we suggest you use a qualified electrician.
There is also the option of joining two Air Pumps together, using a Y Piece Connector that you can purchase at your local hardware store. This allows you to double up the airflow into the machine, without increasing the air pressure. This ensures that you get a constant airflow at a constant pressure.
If you are wondering what the difference is between using an Air Pump vs using an Air Compressor, let us explain. An Air Pump pulls the air from the atmosphere, and pumps it directly through the outflow into the machine, providing a continuous flow of air at a constant pressure. An air compressor works by compressing air into a sealed tank, allowing the air to through the outlet, once the tank pressure drops to a given pressure. With an air compressor, the contuinous flow of air is not guaranteed. If you were to use a compressor for laser cutting, you would need a big air compressor. You would also need to make use of a regulator to ensure that you don’t need use more than 4 bars of pressure on a laser machine, as this is not advised. So for laser cutting, it is best to use an Air Pump!
