Any machine owner will know that rust cannot be avoided. No matter how much care you put into the maintenance of your machinery, rust will eat its way into your metal machinery.
The use of lasers has become a popular way to remove not only rust but paint and other layers. At AM.CO.ZA, we are proud to offer the RustOff range laser cleaning systems.
When choosing a RustOff Laser Cleaning System, you will need to choose from either a Pulse Laser or a Continuous Wave Laser Cleaning System. Today, we will be covering the differences between the two types, so that you can can make the right choice when buying a RustOff Laser Cleaning System on buythis.co.za.

Pulse Laser Cleaning Systems:
A Pulse Laser cleaning system offers more safety, as the pulse laser does not damage the metal that is being cleaned. Only rust, dust, dirt, paint and coatings are removed. We recommend the RustOff 50W Pulsed Fiber Laser as it requires a 16amp breaker, gets rid of rust on metal without worrying about too much power and is easily portable thanks to its size and fewer internal components.

Continuous Wave Laser Cleaning Systems:
Whereas a Continuous Wave Laser cleaning system is praised for its speed, as it is more powerful, and removes everything but can also burn the metal. We recommend the RustOff 1000W Continuous Wave Fiber Laser as it requires a 25amp minimum certain breaker, gets rid of all rusts on metal and can remove paint and adhesive.

How to decide?
So in order to decide between a Pulse Laser Cleaning System or a Continuous Wave Laser Cleaning System, the intended use of the machine as well as the type of material that you will be cleaning, needs to be considered.
What is your use?
If you would like to remove only the paint of an object, remove an aluminum anodized layer or a steel oxide layer, then the Pulse Laser is for you.
If you would like to prepare the surface for painting, then the Continuous Wave Laser is the right machine for the job.
What materials will you be cleaning?
When it comes to materials, if you will be cleaning aluminium, stainless steel, precious metals (such as silver, gold, platinum) then the Pulse Laser is the right choice as you would not want to damage these materials.
But on the other hand, if you are working with mild steel, a low-priced material, then the Continuous Wave is the right choice for you.
