Contra Vision One-Way Vision & Wallpaper Design, Print and Application [How To Video]

Today at AM.CO.ZA we have a very special project at our new warehouse. To create some privacy in our offices, we will be designing, printing and applying a one-way Contra Vision Wallpaper. Join us by watching the below video for a full step-by-step process on how you can do the same at your office, or for your clients!

The first step is to start with the design and the template size. Since we already have the design, we can move straight to the template size. We are going to apply wallpaper to a section of the wall as well, so we need to take this into account in our template file. Since we will be printing different panels, we will break the design up into different images to print.

We are now ready to print. For the glass section, we are going to be using Contra Vision and for this, we will be printing on a UV Printer available for purchase from Buythis so that we can achieve a matt finish.

For the wall section, we will be printing the wallpaper in matt on a self-adhesive wallpaper using an Eco-Solvent Printer, so that the paper absorbs the ink, to ensure that the ink does not get scratched off when applied with a squeegee to the surface.

We are now ready to install. We will start with the glass panel first, installing from left to right, so that if we go a little bit skew, we can correct it. When installing Contra Vision, all you need to do is spray a sunlight soap and water solution onto the window to clean the window, then apply a lot more water, to allow the Contra Vision to move into place without permanently sticking to the glass.

Then use a squeegee to remove the water and air bubbles. Once dry any excess pieces can be trimmed.

The wallpaper will be applied straight onto the wall with a squeegee. The wallpaper can be removed and placed on again if you need to move the wallpaper a bit. If needed you can add some wallpaper glue to seal the edges. Make sure that the wall is prepared correctly before applying. We now trim the edges and we are done!
