We have been getting many questions about our UV Laser and if it can cut paper. In this video, we put the UV Laser to the test! Watch to see the results:
A UV laser machine is a type of a Fiber Laser Marking Machine, that uses a special type of laser called a UV laser to create precise and detailed cuts, engravings, or markings on various materials. It works by emitting a focused beam of ultraviolet light, which is a high-energy form of light that is not visible to the human eye. This intense UV light, from the LableMark Fiber Laser, is used to remove or alter the material’s surface in a controlled way, allowing for intricate designs and patterns. UV laser machines have a wide range of applications, from industrial manufacturing to artistic and craft projects, where precision and fine detailing are essential.
For the design, we chose an image of Disney character Stich, from Lilo & Stitch, as this artwork has many intricate details and will give our UV Laser a run for its money. We then imported the vector file into our software.
On the UV Laser bed, we placed a piece of wood, to protect the table. We then placed a piece of scrap paper on the wood to check the height of the laser was correct. Since we are cutting paper, we adjusted the parameters such as the speed, as the material is thin.
It was then time to do the test. The laser cut out the design on our piece of paper with ease, with no issues. The vector that was cut can easily be removed.
We then used the utensils toolkit to remove some of the finer details such as the eyes and teeth cutouts.
Next, we tried cutting out text on paper with the UV Laser. We needed to adjust the parameters again for the job, mainly the speed.
The UV Laser did an excellent job at cutting out the text, with no burning at all. So there you have it, the UV Laser did an excellent job at cutting out artwork and text on paper. Give sales a call should you need more information or to purchase a UV Laser.
