They admitted they had no idea how to design furniture, let alone a table. So, they asked around, and to their surprise, the answer was yes: not only could they make furniture, but they could start with a table that perfectly fit the space they had in mind. Of course, they weren’t going to figure it out alone. Luckily, the team at the Ambitious Academy was building a fantastic course on furniture design. With their guidance, they decided to give it a go using the EasyRoute CNC Router ATC Edition.
Cutting and Assembly
For the cutting process, we used a single flute straight cut bit at a constant speed, running four passes at 6 mm per pass. The operation speed was around 5.6 meters per minute. For such a large router, this was an easy job—and before long, all the material was cut and ready to assemble.
The next question was whether the design would actually come together. And it did, beautifully. Everything locked into place like a puzzle. We made sure to leave a little tolerance in the joints, which is crucial if you plan to paint or varnish later. The AM.CO.ZA team tested the fit, and it all came together smoothly.
Finishing Touches
With the table assembled, it was time for sanding and sealing. The result? A sturdy, good-looking table that honestly turned out far better than expected, especially for a first attempt at furniture making.
