The new Double Head Pneumatic Heat Press has just arrived. This heat press allows you to press one shirt while preparing another on the second station, and with the laser guides, you are sure to have perfect applications! In the below video, we share a full review of the machine, how to set it up, adjust the pressure and temperature as well as an operation guide. Watch the video for free on YouTube:
The Setup:
The Pneumatic Dual Head Heat Press arrives in a box in two pieces. The first piece is the top section with all the lasers, the Pneumatic pieces and the bar with the lasers. And then the second piece is the base. The base and the top piece are simply secured together with bolts. You will also need to attach an air compressor, which is sold separately.
Operation:
To power on the heat press, there is a power button on the side of the machine.
There is also a display and controls to adjust settings. You can choose between manual or auto for the lowering of the heat press. There is a pressure gauge which lets you adjust how much pressure is applied when heat pressing.
Then there is the laser system, which allows you to line up your shirts more accurately. This laser system is easily adjustable.
Then you have the stopper, which prevents the heat press from moving too far. The stopper as well as the micro switch needs to be in the correct place before heat pressing. Lastly, there is the emergency switch, which turns off the heating elements in an emergency.
Heat Press Test:
We will be testing the Heat Press with three versions of vinyl: Printable Vinyl, Three layered coloured Vinyl, and Sublimation. Let’s start with Printable Vinyl.
We place the shirt on the bed and use the lasers to position the Printable Vinyl correctly. You can adjust the lasers so that you have a marker where to place the vinyl for repeated prints. Next, we peel off the vinyl and stick the vinyl down to the correct position. We are now ready to heat press the Printable Vinyls using a temperature of 154 degrees @ 7 seconds. Once the process is complete, we pull off the film and we are done. If you would like to add more pressure during the second press, you can do so.
Next up we have the Three layered coloured Vinyl. We need to place each coloured layer on the material and heat press, before placing the next layer on top. This allows us to have different layers of colours heat pressed individually. Once again the laser makes it easy to find the correct place for the vinyl. Take note to check if the vinyl is a hot or cold peel as this will affect how you peel off the film. Once the first layer is heat pressed and peeled off, we then proceed with the rest of the layers of vinyl. If the vinyl and material get stuck onto the head, peel off the material slowly.
Lastly, we are ready for Sublimation, which requires 200 degrees for 90 seconds. We use the control interface to adjust the settings. For sublimation, we print in reverse as the image is heat pressed in reverse. We stick the printed image onto the material and adjust the pressure, as if the pressure is too hard, the pressure won’t be able to escape the material as the humidity is too much, and this will cause the colours to burst, which is not ideal. Looking at the result, the colour of the sublimation was transferred correctly.
All three of these pressing techniques rely on pressure and accuracy, and the H-PRESS/4060D: Heatware Twin-Station Air-Lifting 400×600 Flat Press Heat Press Machine delivered the correct pressure, and the laser system made it easy to line up jobs. Having double heat press beds allows one to work on more than one shirt at a time. The Pneumatic system saves you the trouble and effort of having to pull and push down the heat press manually. Lastly, with sublimation, you often have a case of ink leaking out onto the material and the onto the heating pad. With a Teflon heating pad, you can easily wipe the ink away.
