DTF White Ink Control By Spot Colour Option in InkRIP Software, DTF White Printing

The Spot Colour Option in the InkRIP Software allows you to specify exactly how you want white ink to be printed. Should it appear on the background only, on the artwork only, or on both?

Watch the below video to follow the steps:

Watch video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paQevhs3XBU

To configure this, follow these steps:

  1. Click on Spot Colour in the drop-down menu.
  2. You will see several options available for white ink application.
  3. Select an option, then click on Application and Print.
  4. In the Solution drop-down menu, choose a DTF option.
  5. Ensure Horizontal Mirror and Forward Output are ticked.
  6. Press Print.

Spot Colour Printing Options

Let’s explore the different spot colour printing options available in InkRIP Software:

  • Empty: No white ink is printed at all.
  • Spot Colour: White ink is only printed where white appears in the artwork.
  • Image Density: Less white is applied on lighter colours.
  • Unimed Density: More white is applied on lighter colours.
  • Empty Image Base: White is applied to the background, except on feathered sections.
  • Substrate: White covers the entire background, including feathered outlines.
  • Colour Substrate: More white is applied on lighter colours and less on darker colours.
  • Uncolour Density: No white is printed except on feathered edges.

Adjusting White Ink Using the Shrink Slider

InkRIP Software also provides the Shrink Slider to refine the application of white ink:

  • Positive values will bleed the white, expanding its coverage.
  • Negative values will choke the white, reducing its spread.

This setting allows you to fine-tune the limitations of your white ink application based on your specific printing needs.

By understanding and optimising spot colour settings in the InkRIP Software, you can achieve precise and professional printing results.
