Diving Deeper Into Our New Laminator: Part Two
Hey, folks! If you caught our first video (Part One), you already know the basics of our shiny new RRollman Automatic Hot/Cold Laminator. How to set it up, run it, and use its core features. Now, in part two, we’re kicking things up a notch and exploring the advanced features that make this machine a total rockstar. These extras are designed to save you time, reduce mess, and help you nail that professional finish every time.
Rollers That Make Life Easier
At the top of the Rollman Automatic Hot/Cold Laminator with Cutting Blade, you’ll notice a set of rollers that work together like a well-oiled machine. They’re there to handle your lamination film and its backing. As the film peels away, it slides down to meet your vinyl, while the backing gets neatly rolled up on the top roller. No more paper dangling around or cluttering your workspace—it’s all about keeping things clean and organised.
Out front, there’s another roller that holds your printed vinyl, ready to roll (pun intended). Once you’ve got it aligned, the vinyl feeds in nice and smooth. And here’s a little trick: there’s a bar you can use during the process to keep everything flat, so you don’t end up with creases or bubbles messing up your work.
A Built-in Blade for Clean Cuts
Check out the back left side of the laminator—see those two yellow knobs? They control a built-in cutting blade that’s a total time-saver. Just twist the knobs to slide the blade to where you need it, lining it up with your artwork’s edge. Lock it in, and the blade trims your material automatically as it feeds through. No more fussing with scissors or manual cuts!
One quick heads-up: be careful with that blade. Always move it using the locking screw or close it from the non-sharp side to avoid any accidents. Safety first, right?
Setting Up Your Lamination Film
When you’re ready to laminate, start by lifting the bar that keeps the vinyl flat. Then, pull the lamination film across and line it up with your print. Go slow to avoid any creases—just guide the film under the roller and make sure it overlaps the vinyl slightly, without going too far over the rubber roller.
Here’s a handy tip: peel back the lamination layer gently and roll it back on itself, shiny side out. This makes it super easy to stick the first bit onto the vinyl without any drama. Once it’s in place, hook the backing sheet onto the top roller to keep everything neat and off the floor. Nobody wants a messy workspace!
Hot or Cold? Your Call
This laminator’s got both hot and cold settings, so you can pick what’s best for your project. For most indoor stuff, cold is the way to go—it’s reliable and gets great results. Save the hot setting for outdoor signage when you need that extra toughness to handle the weather. In our demo, we went with cold and a slow speed to keep everything precise.
How to Fix Those Little Hiccups
Sometimes, the lamination might not sit perfectly against the roller, and you’ll spot bubbles or creases. No biggie! To avoid this, leave about 15 cm of blank vinyl at the start of your job, especially when you’re using the fancy features. That extra space gives you room to tweak things without ruining your design.
If things get a bit wonky, just lift the roller, pull the lamination straight, and lower it back down. This quick move flattens everything out and gets rid of any pesky bubbles, so you’re back in business.
