Elevate Your Barista Game: Personalised Coffee Stencils Made With a CO2 Laser Cutter!

If you’re a coffee enthusiast looking to add a creative touch to your barista skills, here’s a cool idea for you – creating personalised stencils to add words, shapes and more to your coffee. In the below video, we’ll guide you through the process of making your own stencils using a CO2 Laser Cutter Machine from AM.CO.ZA. Let’s dive in and spice up your coffee presentation!

Watch the below video to follow the process:

Materials: For this project, we recommend using a 1 mm PET sheet for the stencils, choosing transparency to observe the process underneath. However, the choice of material is flexible, and you can use whatever is readily available to you.

Designing Your Stencil:

Begin by creating a design in RDWorks with a shape that is two to three times larger than the circumference of the mug. This allows the stencil to cover the entire top surface of the coffee.

Add a teardrop shape to the design, creating a handle that will help you hold the stencil while pouring cocoa powder or other toppings onto the coffee.

Add in the design of your choice, such as words, shapes or art. You can experiment with various designs, and shapes, or even opt for something like a rose to add a touch of elegance to your coffee.

Cutting the Stencil: Once your design is ready, it’s time to bring it to life. Using the 1 mm PET sheet as a base, carefully cut out the stencil following the design using a CO2 Laser Cutting Machine. Precision is key here to ensure your stencil works seamlessly when applied to the coffee.

Now it’s time to add some designs to your coffee, and the process is so easy! With your personalized stencil in hand, it’s time to put it to the test. Make a real cup of coffee and apply your stencil to see the results. The process is not only enjoyable but also adds a unique and artistic flair to your coffee-making routine.

  1. Hold the stencil over the mug.
  2. Sprinkle cocoa powder or any desired topping over the stencil.
  3. Lift the stencil carefully to reveal your personalized design on the coffee’s surface.

Creating personalized stencils for your coffee is a fun and easy way to elevate your barista skills. Whether you prefer words, symbols, or intricate designs, the possibilities are endless. Give it a try, experiment with different stencils, and impress your friends and family with beautifully crafted, customized coffee creations. Enjoy the process and stay tuned for more creative ideas in the world of coffee crafting!
