With Latest VinylCut 5 Vinyl Cutting Software, No Driver is Needed for Most Vinyl Cutter Setups!

The latest release of Vinyl Cut 5 software by AM.CO.ZA has revolutionized the installation process, making it incredibly user-friendly. Previous versions required users to download printer drivers from CNCU.CO.ZA, but with Vinyl Cut 5, it’s now a straightforward drag-and-play process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started!

Downloading Vinyl Cut 5

  1. Visit the Website: Go to www.vinylcut.co.za.
  2. Navigate to Downloads: From the homepage, click on the “Download” section.
  3. Select Vinyl Cut Software: Scroll down to find the Vinyl Cut software, and follow the prompts to download it.

Installing Vinyl Cut 5

  1. Connect Your Vinyl Cutter: Plug your vinyl cutter into your computer using a USB cable.
  2. Power On: Turn on the vinyl cutter.
  3. Launch the Software: Open Vinyl Cut 5 on your computer.

Starting a New Project

  1. Create a Project: Start a new project by giving it a name and setting your cutting dimensions.
  2. Confirm Settings: Click “OK” to proceed.

Setting Up the Cutter

  1. Access Cutter Settings: Click on “Cutter” in the software.
  2. USB Serial Device Table: A table will pop up showing connection and port selection options.

Connection Setup

For V Series, V Smart, and Vinyl 4 Cutters:

  1. Select Connection Type: Choose “USB 2.0” in the connection options.
  2. Auto Detect Port: Select “Auto Detect” for the port.
  3. Test Connection: Click “Test Connection.”

For V Smart Plus and V Auto Cutters:

  1. Select Connection Type: Choose “COM USB Serial” in the connection options.
  2. Auto Detect Port: Select “Auto Detect” for the port.
  3. Test Connection: Click “Test Connection.”

Troubleshooting

If you’re still unsure about the correct port, you can leave it on “Auto Detect” and manually go through the connection options one by one, clicking “Test Connection” each time until the vinyl cutter responds. This method ensures you find the correct connection.

  • Reboot if Needed: If no device is found when you launch Vinyl Cut 5 after installation, simply reboot your computer.
