16 Bar Air Compressor

Getting Started with the AM.CO.ZA 16 Bar Air Compressor!

If you’ve got an AM.CO.ZA industrial air compressor in your workshop, you’re working with a solid, high-performance machine. Here’s a simple guide to help you get it up and running, and to keep it in top shape with a bit of regular maintenance.

Powering Up

This compressor needs a three-phase power supply — that’s three live wires and one neutral. Once you’ve got the wiring sorted, just flip the main switch on the side.

Then go to the control panel, hit Start, and give it a few seconds to fire up.

Maintenance Menu

To keep things running smoothly, go into the Maintenance menu on the display. You’ll see the total running hours there — a good reminder for when it’s time to service the unit.

  • Oil changes are due every 2,000 hours.
  • Check the oil level in the sight glass and top up if needed.
  • When changing the oil, use the drain valve located under the oil filter.

Replacing Filters

Filters play a big role in keeping your compressor (and the air it pushes out) clean.

  • Oil filter: Unscrew and replace it every time you change the oil.
  • Air filters: Replace the main one along with the oil filter. Don’t forget the four extra filters on the other side, plus one more underneath the unit. Best to swap them all at once.

Draining Water

Like any compressor, this one collects moisture — and that needs to go.

  • Drain the lower air filter at least once a month.
  • Also open the release valve on the front of the tank regularly to get rid of water build-up there too.

Connecting to Your Equipment

Air comes out of the compressor, through the filters, then into a regulator, and finally into your machines. If you’re using it with a nitrogen compressor, here’s how that works:

  • The blue pipe sends air into the nitrogen generator.
  • The clear pipe sends nitrogen out to your machine.
  • There’s a regulator on the nitrogen side too, just like with air.
