Dealing with jagged, sloppy cuts from your RAYCUT Fiber Laser? It’s frustrating, right? The culprit is often a laser beam that’s not hitting the nozzle dead-on. No need to stress—here’s a quick, no-fuss way to realign it and get those cuts looking sharp.
Step 1: Pop On a Bigger Nozzle
Start by swapping your usual nozzle for a larger one. A bigger opening makes it way easier to see if the laser’s off-centre. Once it’s on, grab a Sharpie and draw a line across the nozzle and its holder. That mark’s your guide to keep things lined up if you need to swap it back later.
Step 2: Do the Tape Trick
Slap a piece of masking tape over the nozzle’s tip. Head to the control panel and hit the “Laser Burst” button—it’ll fire a quick zap that leaves a burn mark on the tape.
Now, carefully pull off the nozzle and check out the tape. If the burn mark’s off to one side, your laser’s misaligned, and that’s probably why your cuts are coming out rough.
Step 3: Nudge and Check Again
Tweak the laser head a bit—small adjustments go a long way. Stick on a fresh piece of tape, fire another burst, and inspect the mark. Keep fiddling and testing until that burn lands smack in the middle of the tape. Patience here pays off!
Step 4: Go Back to Your Go-To Nozzle
Now that the laser’s lined up with the bigger nozzle, switch back to the one you usually cut with. Run the tape test one more time to double-check that the alignment’s still spot-on.
Final Step: Test the Cut
Fire up a test cut on your material. If you got the alignment right, the laser should slice through like butter, leaving a clean, smooth edge you’ll be stoked about.
And that’s it! Your RAYCUT Fiber Laser should be back to its best. If this trick worked for you, give a shout in the comments or check out our other guides for more ways to keep your laser game strong.
