If you look around, you will find a label all around you. From the label on your clothes to the label stuck on the cup of coffee you just bought, the industry is booming. In today’s video, we are going to demonstrate how you can print and cut labels using the FlexiPRINT and FlexiSTARTER setup from AM.CO.ZA. We will then touch on what is contour cutting.
First up, let’s take a look at the process of designing, printing and vinyl-cutting labels, which you can see in this easy-to-follow video:

The process of label printing starts off with the design of your label. Using FlexiSTARTER, your design is imported so that you can get the design ready for print. You will want to create multiple instances of your logo, to make use of the space on the paper. From here, the design file is exported and saved, so that it can then be imported into FlexiPRINT.

Using FlexiPRINT, the design is opened and from here you can print using your FastCOLOUR Large Format Printer.

Once the print is complete, it is time to cut the labels using a Vinyl Cutter. The FlexiSTARTER CuttingPro is used to cut the vinyl into the right size.
Next up, we will take a look at what is contour cutting. But first we need to discuss what the difference is between contour cutting and normal cutting. Contour cutting uses a computer-guided cutting process to cut around the outer edge of a printed image following the contour of the design, but with normal cutting, the design is cut out. Contour cutting lets you cut around an object, and when the object is cut out, the remainder of the shape is left behind. Then there is also manual and automatic contour cutting. Contour cutting can be used for custom-cut shapes of vinyl stickers, floor & wall decals, foam board & pvc signs, and much more. Contour cutting is a major application for vinyl cutters, to allow sticker making.
A vinyl cutter with contour cutting function from Advanced Machinery is able to accurately cut out the printed media no matter the distortion during the printing process and screwed during repositioning.
