First, we start off with the template. We create the correct size, import a photograph, and then make some adjustments to the image, such as greyscale, contrast, and brightness. What is important is to use a Fixed Dpi and adjust the Point Power Mapping. For this, we need to know the grey values but to save time, you can just click on Generate. We also take a look at other important settings. These settings will affect how the engraving comes out, but don’t worry, you can always do a test on scrap surfaces before you engrave on an important surface.
We are now ready to mark the material. We have chosen stainless steel for this test.
