Install Rotary Attachment for EasyRoute Express CNC Router with AABB Driver Signal and Auto Switch

AM.CO.ZA is excited to announce the availability of the 900 Rotary Unit for the popular DIY 600 X900 EasyRoute CNC Router. This addition significantly expands the creative possibilities of this already impressive machine, opening up new opportunities for custom projects that require rotary functionality.

Simple Installation Process

The 900 Rotary Unit is designed for ease of installation, allowing users to get started with minimal effort. The power cable for the rotary unit is colour-coded, making the wiring process straightforward. Simply match the colours on the cable to the corresponding connections, and attach the cable to the power supply of your machine. Once the wiring is complete, you’re ready to go—assuming your machine is equipped with a relay from the power supply to the rotary’s power supply, as shown in the video.

If your machine doesn’t come with the necessary relay, don’t worry! The installation process is still simple. Here’s a step-by-step guide to wiring the relay:

  1. Open the Side Panel
Start by opening the side panel of the machine and locating the X-axis.
  2. Wire the Relay
You’ll need to connect the four coloured wires (blue, red, yellow, and green) to the relay. Use the schematic diagram provided to ensure the wires are connected to the correct pins: numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the relay.
  3. Connect the Female Pin Connector
Next, connect the wires from the female pin connector (blue, red, yellow, and green) to pins 5, 6, 7, and 8 on the relay. Additionally, connect the black wire from the female pin connector to pin 13 on the relay.
  4. Step 4: Connect the Stepper Motor Driver
On the other side of the relay, connect pins 9, 10, 11, and 12 to the stepper motor driver. Pin 9 goes to the positive terminal, pin 10 to the negative terminal, pin 11 to the positive terminal, and pin 12 to the negative terminal.
  5. Power Supply Connection
Finally, you need to bring a 24-volt DC current to the relay. Connect pin 14 on the relay to the negative terminal of a 24V DC power supply. Then, connect the positive side of the 24V DC power supply to the sixth and last pin on the female side of the pin connector.
  6. Neaten the Wiring and Final Setup
Once the wiring is complete, tidy up the cables and clip the relay into an open space on the main panel. At this point, your rotary unit should be properly connected and ready for use.
