Next-Gen Large Format Printing That Actually Feels New – From AM.CO.ZA

Next-Gen Large Format Printing That Actually Feels New – From AM.CO.ZA

AM.CO.ZA just dropped their latest FastCOLOUR Large Format Printer, and honestly, it’s a pretty big step up from what we’ve seen before. It comes with a really smart print control system and the newest LED UV ink tech, so the results are sharp, versatile, and way more interesting than your average flat print.

Prints That Actually Have Texture

One of the coolest things about this machine is that it doesn’t just do normal 2D prints. It can create proper 3D effects and even embroidery-style raised textures, so parts of the image literally stand up off the material. It gives signage, shop branding, wall décor, and custom work a completely different feel – the kind of finish that makes people stop and touch it.

More Than Just CMYK

It goes well beyond basic four-colour printing because it has dedicated white ink and varnish. That opens up a bunch of useful options:

  • You can build up layers to create real depth and texture
  • Add a glossy varnish that makes colours pop and gives it that premium look
  • Use the varnish as a tough protective coat so the print lasts longer and handles wear better

The varnish isn’t just for show – it actually helps protect the job when it’s going to be handled or hung outdoors.

Instant Curing – No Waiting Around

There are two UV lights mounted right on the print heads, so the ink cures immediately as it’s printed. That means no drying time, cleaner multi-layer prints, and you can move on to the next step straight away without worrying about smudges.

Little Mechanical Upgrades That Make a Big Difference

They’ve made some sensible improvements to the hardware that make everyday running smoother:

  • Dual motors on the take-up roller so the material winds evenly without slipping or stretching
  • A wider suction bed and feed area that handles bigger sheets more steadily
  • Better feeding and vacuum system that keeps everything tracking accurately the whole time

Controls That Actually Make Sense

The machine is surprisingly easy to live with. You get:

  • A separate panel just for adjusting the suction bed and heater
  • Decimal-accurate alignment so you can position things exactly where you want them
  • Three different cleaning modes (light, normal, strong) depending on what the heads need

You can also tweak the capping position, capping distance, and wiping distance yourself – which is great for keeping the print heads happy over the long term.

They Even Fixed Some Common Annoyances

Things like white media jumping around? There’s a setting in the menu that helps sort that out, so you spend less time fighting the machine and more time printing.

Good Tech That Doesn’t Cost the Earth

The best part? All these upgrades didn’t turn it into some crazy expensive flagship model. It’s still priced sensibly, which makes it a realistic upgrade for workshops and businesses that want better quality and more creative options without emptying the bank account.

Want to See It in Real Life?

If you’re thinking about stepping up your printing game, this one is worth checking out. The best way to understand what it can do is to see it running. Just give the AM.CO.ZA team a shout and they’ll happily arrange a demo for you.
